My Container Garden….Spring 2014

Since we have had such bad luck with our truck this year and could not get the mulch and dirt we wanted, I have resorted to container gardening.  It is not my favorite method but I am hoping it will at least bring me some of the fruits and veggies that I was so looking forward to.  To me, there is nothing better than having fresh produce at my fingertips.  It saves our family money and I get to grow it organically which insures that we are not eating pesticides are chemicals in our food.  That is a big plus!  I have just started so I don’t have many plants, but here is a look at what has sprouted so far.

My Beefsteak tomatoes sprouted about two weeks ago and are growing very well…

Cherry tomato plants looking lovely…I will have to separate them at some point…

And my last variety of tomato, the Roma Tomatoes…This one will probably need to be transplanted into a bigger container soon.

My lettuce has just sprouted…only 3 days after planting it! =)

Lastly, my pepper plant…it took the longest to sprout so it has some catching up to do.

This is what is growing so far.  I have many other veggies and herbs planted that have just not sprouted yet.

Coming soon…Summer Squash, Zucchini, Cilantro, Oregano, Rosemary, Chives, and Green Onions.
